New Words

1.  Blamestorming:  a discussion of why a deadline was missed or a project failed, and who was responsible.

2.  Seagull Manager:  a manager who flies in, makes a lot of noise, craps on everything, and then leaves.

3.  Mouse Potato:  the on-line, wired generation’s version of couch potato.

4.  SITCOM:  Single Income, Two Children, Oppressive Mortgage. What a Yuppie couple gets when they have children and one of them stops working to stay home with the children.

5.  Swipeout:  A debit or credit card rendered useless because the magnetic strip has been worn away by overuse.

6.  Irritainment:  TV shows and media spectacles that are annoying but you can’t stop watching them.

7.  Percussive Maintenance:  the fine art of whacking the crap out of an electronic device to get it to work.

8.  404:  Designation for someone who is clueless.  From the WWW error message “404 Not Found.”

9.  Generica:  Features of towns and areas that are the same no matter where one is, such as fast-food joints, strip malls, and subdivisions.

10.  Ohnosecond:  The length of time during which you realize you just made a mistake, such as hitting the SEND button too soon.
